Hidden Gem - Dojo's Restaurant - The Village

On the east side of New York, just above Houston Street, where Broadway meets West 4th Street, there is a restaurant called Dojo's+. I have been going to this place for more than a decade. I used to go to the St. marks location, but now it is found on West 4th Street. It is on 14 W 4th St, New York NY 10012.  The phone number is 212) 505-8934.
  • It has delicious food at delicious prices.  It is not fancy, but it is fantastic.  It has kind of an Asian food theme, although that is not just what is on the menu.  It has yakisoba noodles and ramen with various meats and noodles to choose from.  However, it also has hamburgers, soy burgers, chicken wings, onion soup, shakes, desserts, and many other delicious savory and sweet treats.

My favorite meal is the chicken tenders with their signature home fries and a drink. All of it is less than $10.  The chicken fingers are long, thick, tender pieces of delicious white meat breaded generously to crunchy perfection.  The home fries are nice big chunks of potatoes that are firm, not mushy like diner home fries.  They are hearty and taste great with the sweet and tangy carrot tahini dressing.

In fact, everything is more delicious with the carrot tahini dressing, including the chicken fingers.  Add a little ketchup to the mix and your taste buds will go wild with the combination of unique flavors.  I like to wash it all down with a lemony ginger drink.  Like I said, all of this for $10!  It's so great!
